Very useful. I used Duolingo to give me a foundation and supplemented with books like this and it has been very helpful. Over a year later and I am very good with German and continue to expand my knowledge of the language.
This is a brush up project for me as I had studied several languages in while getting my degree in vocal performance.in under-grad and grad studies. This was several years ago. I am now planning on a trip to Germany an needed to re-learn. This is the perfect book an very helpful to me..
Great resource! Duolingo and other sites are fun, but to really learn a language, one needs to learn grammar and syntax too! This is a tremendous aid!
this book is to advanced for a beginner. probably better for reacquainting your self with the language. I needed common phrase's for vacation not the entire language.
Went to Germany for a few days, and this helped tremendously with getting around and reading certain signs and information!
I thought that the dummy books were the standard for everything. This is not it. It’s a lot of information every where and very chaotic.
I’m very happy with this purchase! Wish that it came with a ebook version too but oh well! It might be a tad confusing at first for those who don’t know any German off hand. I highly recommended because it goes into such depth detail about sentence structure, telecommunication, finding your way around, ordering food/shopping, etc. I found it very helpful. I needed something to help me freshen up since my speaking skills have become a tad rusty having moved some years back and the lack of German speakers in my area. It has helped me a lot! I plan to purchase the French one next to help me on my studies.
About a third into it. Very logical and smooth approach. German words are starting to stick. Task now is to make sentences.
